Frequently Asked Questions
|
I am not keen on having my photograph taken...
There is no need to worry! For the majority of your wedding day there will be so many different things going on you won't notice me and your cheeks will ache from naturally smiling with happiness and excitement all day!
Group photos will be fun to make you feel at ease and for couple portraits there is no posing, just gentle guidance.
You'll be able to practice being in front of the camera when I take some engagement portraits at your pre-wedding meeting.
|
How many group photos are we allowed?
As many as you like because it is your wedding day! I don't set a limit to the number you can have. Once I've captured the essential portraits you have requested you can choose whether to spend time socialising with your guests or having more combinations and variety of portraits.
Every couple loves relaxed informal photos and these will most often remain their favourites, however on a one off occasion I feel it is important to take a quick traditional photo for parents and as backup to avoid any disappointment at a later date. It takes 2 seconds to take a group photo of everyone facing the camera before we have some fun!
|
How much time should we allow for group photos?
There is no specific 'photo time' in the afternoon of your wedding. On average a drinks reception is between 90 and 120 minutes and during this time I'll take the lead on when the group photos are taken.
As a guide after confetti throwing is best for the large group photos before guests disappear.
Once drinks and canapes have been enjoyed allow another 20 minutes for smaller group photos and a further 10 minutes closer to dinner time for some newlywed portraits.
To ensure you get a good balance of portraits and socialising time, some small portraits and guest requests can be taken later on in the day after your wedding breakfast.
|
Are you happy for guests to take photos?
Guests are an important part of your day. I am happy for them to take photos providing they do not obstruct me from doing my job.
The overall decision on guest photography during your ceremony will be down to your officiant and yourselves. I do however recommend that guests take photos sparingly during the ceremony so that their faces are in the background of your photos rather than their cameras, phones and tablets!
|
Have you photographed at our venue before?
Many couples feel this is important, however there is no rehearsal. Setups, timings, weather and the flow of the wedding day will differ at each wedding. The natural and artificial lighting will constantly change every minute of the day.
Choose a photographer whose portfolio you love and show them know any favourite images you've seen taken at your venue for them to take inspiration from.
|
How many weddings have you photographed?
At the time of writing I have captured over 180 weddings at various venues across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Surrey, Warwickshire and Wiltshire.
Highlights of my career so far are winning South East Photographer of the Year at The English Wedding Awards in 2018 and 2022, and being a winner in the 2024 Hitched Awards. All votes were from past clients pleased with the photography and service they received.
|
Do you work alone or with another photographer?
I chose to work alone and have been highly commended from wedding couples and their guests for my work ethic which captures a good variety throughout the day.
Logistics can be worked out to capture the essence of both the bride and groom preparations.
|
Who edits our photos?
All your wedding photos are manually selected by myself to remove duplicate images. They then receive an authentic edit to keep them as close to real life as possible.
Album designs are carefully curated by myself individually hand-picking each photo to use.
|
Who owns the copyright of our wedding photos?
Copyright is shared. You will be able to make unlimited copies and prints for personal use to share with your family and friends.
Permission will always be asked to use your wedding photos in the public domain for marketing and sharing with wedding suppliers. Your privacy is respected if you wish to keep your special day private and only photos without identities will be used.
You are welcome to upload your photos to your own social media accounts. The photos you receive won't be watermarked. Tagging Diane Frazer Photography on Facebook and Instagram is much appreciated.
|
What happens if we lose our digital photos?
It is advisable to make multiple copies of your photos. Should you lose, accidentally delete or find any of your digital photos have been corrupted please contact me and I'll replace those you've paid for free of charge as downloads. Replacement USB sticks are charged for.
Your photos can be downloaded an unlimited amount of times for a minimum of one year. At present there are no plans to remove client galleries, however no liability will be taken for loss of images after 3 years.
|
How many changes can we make to our album design?
A proofing form will be sent to you 2-3 working days after ordering for you to make changes to the album design I've created for you. You may submit as many changes as you wish until you are happy with the version you'd like to send off for printing.
Parents not ordering replica albums can be sent their proofing forms to their own email address for choosing their own favourite photos.
|
Can you video our wedding?
I specialise in still photography, however I can work alongside a videographer booked separately. Videographers I have worked with include CKS Productions and Posterity Video Productions.
|
How far in advance should we book?
I recommend booking once you have your venue and your wedding date confirmed. Start and approximate finish times are confirmed about two to three months before.
Only one wedding is photographed per day and a limited number each year to fill my editing diary.
|
When do we pay and what methods do you accept?
A deposit secures photography for your wedding day and is put towards your chosen wedding coverage package (attendance and digital photos) with the balance due one calendar month before your day.
There is 10% off one Completo or Memoir Album ordered before your wedding day.
Optional albums, frames, and prints can also be chosen and paid for after your wedding.
Payment methods are cheque, bank transfer or PayPal (account or debit/credit card). Balance payments can be paid in installments with the final payment one month before the wedding. Please contact me for details.
|
Our venue would like to see your insurance documents...
Most venues have copies of my public liability and professional indemnity insurance on file. I'll contact your wedding coordinator to send them my evidence of cover nearer your day. I always carry my documents to meetings which can be shown on request.
|
Would you like some dinner?
A main meal or working lunch is much appreciated at weddings if I am staying to capture the first dance or later than 7 pm.
I never take a designated break because I do not like to miss out on any photographic opportunities! I sit in a room near to the wedding breakfast room whilst your eating and pop back in between courses to capture the laughter at the tables.
